He Thinks He's the Passionate One!

P had a trick up his sleeve that turned out to be a real winner. We've since put it into regular rotation. He puts M&M's into our popcorn churner to create lightly candy coated crisp popcorn. And it works so well! He puts the oil in first, gets that to the correct heat, tests a kernel, adds the chocolate churning quickly so it doesn't burn and immediately adds the popcorn. The churning has to happen fast so as to coat each kernel. The magic is that the popcorn not only gets flavored with the chocolate but the candy coating actually adds a hard shell to the popcorn itself and transforms it into something brand new. This is between a kettle corn and like a Crunch N Munch type thing.
M&M's has come out with all these amazing flavors like Coconut, Peanut Butter, Mint, Dark Chocolate and Pretzel. Pick your pleasure. If you like it sweet, add two small bags. We like it just slightly coated and of course salt right away so it sticks. If you're feeling adventurous, use the dark chocolate and then immediately add a few dashes of chipotle chili powder mix and salt. Dyno-mite!
Honorable mention was the tried and true Monkey Bars recipe from Woman's Day. Always moist and fabulous, either cooled or heated with a little butter. This is a low cal treat using Whole Wheat flour that's no trouble to make. (www.womansday.com/recipefinder/monkey-bars-recipe-122697)

Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone at home?
