Cauliflower Steak Primavera
I roasted up a giant head of cabbage cut into steaks, well two at least and the rest just crumbled into pieces. But then I topped the steak with marinara sauce, mushrooms, peppers, onions, zucchini, chicken, oregano and lot of Parmesan and a bit of Mozzarella. Then a dollop of pesto on the top to finish. This was so pretty. You have to be creative if you want to keep your food interesting on a budget. I believe P liked it. God forbid you get the deafening silence that accompanies regular conversation these days. Do you know what I'm talking about? You're speaking to your mate, conversation is back and forth maybe from across the room or I'll be in the kitchen and all of the sudden the air goes completely silent. All communication stops abruptly. I used to waste time rushing in and checking to see if everything was okay but I've come to learn that what takes my husband's attention is simply something more interesting has come across his phone or laptop that shifts him from me to it. And when it happens, it's as if he stops breathing until he's captured the data from his devise. Usually by the time he finishes, he forgets we were even speaking at all. I'm not exactly sure how this even changes the air in a room but it does. It's a nasty little indiscretion I'll tell ya. I'm sure we all do it, it's just that when it's done to you it sucks.

Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone at home?
