Leave Your Cares Behind

On this day we celebrated celebrating.  To celebrate: to acknowledge a happy occasion with an enjoyable activity.  The occasion was that no one was dying or sick, that we knew of.  That our energy is coming back.  That weather was significantly more pleasant.  Most importantly, that we were capable of being in a happy state as opposed to feeling ill, dog tired or worse, indifferent.  The activity was ordering Korean Spicy Chicken take out for dinner and enjoying every bite.
Crispy wontons, loaded tater tots, mac and cheese and the bestest, crispiest, sweet, spicy, hot chicken pieces ever to befall our taste buds.

For Breakfast, bacon, hash browns and mushroom egg scramble.

It's Up To You, It Surely Can Be Done

I save my meal pictures and don't always write about them until months later.  I also try to save a small memory of the day in notes to bring me back when I do get the chance to post a story.  I called this one pre-trip freak out.  I was to go to Arizona to see my father turn 95, leaving early the next day.  I thought we'd all be there or some of us kids but as it turned out I would be the only one visiting.  This was very nerve-racking to me.  I was not prepared for that responsibility but was trying to psyche myself up for the challenge.  The meal the night before had to be total comfort feels.  Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup with a cold cut sandwich complete with lettuce, mustard and tomatoes.  Cut in half with chips on the plate.  This was serious.

Good Times, These are the Good Times

My 51st bday. Woke up, looked out the window. Miserable gloomy day. Perfect! I love hangin' on the couch in my clown clothes, big fluffy robe and a blanket for extree security on days like this. Not a problem for me to just be. I'm grateful for so many things and not even depressed about the age thing. It's just a number.

Like 67, as in 67 Burger here in Fort Greene! I was granted any request for food in any burrough. Even though I know he would sit uncomfortably and awkwardly try to make real conversation with me, P was willing to take me to any nice restaurant of my choosing.

With the snow and cold though, my true wish was to just have a relaxed comfortable warm day and food brought right to me. These are exceptional burgers and so many enticing combos to choose from. I went for the Ranch; ranch dressing, homemade crispy onions, and your choice of cheese. P got the Southwestern; homemade chipotle mayo, roasted peppers, tomatoes, scallions, and pepper jack cheese. Huge. Size does matter. All the right accompaniments. Award winning fries.

Best 51st birthday yet!
